Why the corridor runs through here
Laredo is the busiest inland port in the United States by trade value. The World Trade Bridge alone carries a large share of all U.S.–Mexico truck traffic, and the city sits at the head of the I-35 corridor — the spine that connects the Mexican industrial belt to Dallas, Kansas City, Chicago and, eventually, the Canadian border.
For a cross-border operation, being here is not branding. It means the transfer yards, the customs brokers, the drayage carriers and the northbound capacity are all people you can reach in the same afternoon when a shipment goes sideways.

The I-35 corridor
