DCI Logistics LLC
Accessibility
A short, honest statement about how this site is built, what we test, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when something does not work for you.
01Our commitment
We want anyone who needs to reach DCI Logistics LLC to be able to do so — to read what we do, check our regulatory standing, understand our cargo insurance position, and send us a quote request — regardless of how they use the web.
Accessibility was designed into this site rather than bolted on afterwards, and it is treated as part of quality rather than as a compliance exercise.
02The standard we work to
Our technical target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.
We do not claim that this site is fully conformant, and we do not describe it as “ADA compliant”. Passing an automated checker is not the same as being usable, automated tools detect only a fraction of real barriers, and a blanket claim of conformance is not something we can honestly make about a site that keeps changing. What we can tell you is what we build to, what we test, and what we know is imperfect.
03What we have built in
- Semantic HTML throughout, with a single H1 per page and a heading structure that follows the content rather than the styling.
- Keyboard operability for everything interactive: navigation, the mega menus, the mobile menu, the shipment illustration, the cookie dialog and the quote form. The cookie dialog traps focus while it is open and returns focus when it closes.
- A visible focus indicator on every interactive element, which we have not removed anywhere.
- A skip link to the main content as the first focusable element on the page.
- Colour contrast checked against WCAG AA for body text, headings, labels and interface controls. The brand orange is used at sizes and weights where it meets the requirement, and never as the only means of conveying information.
- Labelled form fields, with errors announced in text next to the field, associated programmatically, and not signalled by colour alone.
- Alternative text on meaningful images, and decorative images marked so screen readers skip them. The map carries a text description of what it shows.
- Reduced motion honoured globally: with the system preference set, animations stop and content that would otherwise fade in is shown immediately.
- Touch targets of at least 44 × 44 CSS pixels for controls on small screens.
- Text that reflows and remains readable when zoomed, without horizontal scrolling at 320 px width.
- Language declared on every page, with provisions quoted in their original language marked so a screen reader pronounces them correctly.
- No content that flashes, no auto-playing audio or video, and no carousel that moves without a control.
- The site works without JavaScript for reading; the quote form falls back to a standard form submission.
04Known limitations
Being straight about this is more useful than a blanket claim:
- The map of North America is a dense graphic. It carries a title and description, and every place and corridor it shows is also described in text on the same page — but the map itself is not a substitute for that text for a screen reader user.
- The “follow the shipment” illustration advances on a timer while it is on screen. It can be paused, it is fully keyboard operable, and it does not move at all when reduced motion is requested.
- Our documents are long. We have added a table of contents, anchors and print styles to make them navigable, but a dense contractual document is demanding to read by any means.
- We test with keyboard navigation, automated tooling and browser accessibility inspection. We have not commissioned an independent audit or formal assistive-technology user testing.
05Tell us about a barrier
If something on this site does not work for you, we want to hear about it — and we would rather hear about a small annoyance than have you work around it.
Email accessibility@dcilogistics.us or call +1 (956) 656-1165.
If you can, tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and what you use to browse. We will:
- acknowledge your message;
- tell you what we found and what we are going to do;
- help you get what you needed in the meantime, by whatever means suits you.
