Warehousing & Storage
Sometimes the right move is to stop. Storage at the right point turns a crossing problem into a scheduling decision.
We arrange warehousing and storage with facility partners near the Laredo crossing and in destination markets. The most common uses are staging freight before a crossing, holding buffer stock on the U.S. side of a Mexico programme, and consolidating inbound shipments before a single line-haul.
Storage is arranged as part of the movement, under the same shipment reference — so freight that goes into a warehouse does not drop out of the file.
Typical uses
- 01
Border staging
Holding freight near the crossing so trailers cross on schedule rather than on arrival.
- 02
Buffer inventory
Keeping stock on the U.S. side of a Mexico supply programme to absorb crossing variability.
- 03
Consolidation space
Accumulating partial shipments until a full trailer is economic.
- 04
Overflow & seasonal
Short-term space for peak volume without committing to a lease.
What is coordinated
- Facility selection matched to commodity, volume and dwell requirement
- Inbound receiving and outbound release coordination
- Storage arranged under the same shipment reference as the transportation
- Consolidation and deconsolidation handling where required
- Documentation held against the shipment rather than the facility
A good fit when
- You need space near the border without signing a lease
- Crossing variability is forcing you to hold safety stock in the wrong country
- You are consolidating partials and need somewhere for them to wait
- Seasonal volume outgrows your existing footprint a few months a year
Frequently asked
Does DCI own warehouses?
DCI Logistics LLC arranges warehousing with facility partners. What we provide is selection, coordination and a single point of accountability, so storage and transportation stay on the same file.
Can you store freight that has not yet cleared customs?
Requirements differ sharply between general-purpose and bonded facilities, and the answer depends on the commodity and the entry type. Tell us the movement and we will confirm what is available before you commit to it.
